This ministry shall be called “The New Life Center of Philipsburg, PA”. The New Life Center is a religious, non-profit corporation, organized and incorporated under the laws of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It is a sacred place of worship as well as a place for Bible teaching, preaching, counseling, Christian fellowship, activities and good gospel music designed for the entire family. It is an independent fundamental Bible ministry.
All of the Holy Scriptures, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, are inspired verbally (every word) and plenary (in its entirety) by God. They are inerrant and infallible and are the supreme and final authority for all matters of faith and life and should be interpreted literally. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21 & 3:16; John 6:63 & 10:35; James 1:25)
1. The Godhead exists eternally in three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, each embodying precisely the same attributes and perfections and are worthy of the same worship. We recognize only one True God, the God of our Bible. All three are equal in power and glory and these three distinct persons are one God. God is Spirit, Creator of Heaven and earth and He is unique as the only self-existent God. (Matthew 3:16-17; Deuteronomy 6:4; John 4:24; Genesis 1:1; Ephesians 1:3)
2. The work of the Father includes His eternal decree, God’s free act, whereby He has determined all that will come to pas for His own glory. We were created to have fellowship with God and to praise and glorify God. Everything, which takes place throughout all of history, does so because God has planned it. God the Father was also active in creation and revelation. (Ephesians 1:4; 11, 3:8-141; Proverbs 16:33; Genesis 1:1; Hebrews 1:1)
1. The second Person of the Godhead, Jesus Christ, is the eternal Son of God. He became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and being born of the Virgin Mary, so that he would reveal God and redeem sinful man. (John 1:1; 2, 14; Matthew 1:20-21; Luke 1:35; John 14:9-10; Micah 5:2).
2. Jesus Christ’s vicarious (taking the place of another) death provided completely for sinful man’s redemption. This was sinless and substitutionary sacrifice for the guilt and penalty of sin. Jesus Christ’s literal physical resurrection from the dead provides full justification for sinful man. (John 1:29, 3:16; Romans 5:6-9; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
3. The Lord Jesus Christ ascended into heaven to take his rightful place on His throne at the right hand of God. In heaven, Christ functions as our High Priest, Intercessor, Representative and Advocate. (Acts 1:9; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 4:14-16, 7:25, 9:24; 1 John 2:1-2
1. The Holy Spirit exists as the third Person of the eternal Godhead. His work in the Old Testament includes creation, revelation, and inspiration. Also, He resided in some, came upon some, and filled others to accomplish God’s work (all temporarily). Presently, He convicts each individual of sin, righteousness, and of judgment. He is the supernatural One which regenerates sinful man and baptizes them into the Body of Christ, sealing salvation until the day of redemption. (John 16:8-11, 1 Corinthians 6:19; 12:13, 2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Ephesians 1:13,4:30)
2. The Holy Spirit teaches and guides the believer into all truth. The Holy Spirit intercedes and assures believers. All believers are exhorted to be filled with the Holy Spirit, which means to be controlled by the Holy Spirit. (John 16:13; 1 John 2:20; Romans 8:16; Ephesians 5:18)
3. The Holy Spirit equips the Church by giving spiritual gifts to each member as He wills, equipping them to be fruitful and enabling them to carry out their ministry. (Romans 12:3, 6; 1 Corinthians 12:11; Ephesians 4:12013; 1 Peter 4:10)
1. God created an innumerable host of spiritual beings known as angels which have emotion, will and intellect, but are incapable of reproducing or dying. There is no Biblical basis for the belief that man will become angels at the point his death or thereafter. Angels do no possess the same perfections or attributes as God. (Colossians 1:16; Matthew 22:30; James 2:19; 2 Corinthians 11:3; 2 Timothy 2:26)
2. A great number of the angels kept their holy estate and are presently serving God and ministering to the heirs of salvation. Those angels who rebelled with Satan against God lost their holy estate and are known as demons. All demons are awaiting their final judgment; some are confined and some are loose doing work for Satan. (Jude 6; James 2;19; Hebrews 1:14; 1 Peter 1:12)
3. Satan is a fallen angel responsible for the entrance of sin into the universe and the temptation of Eve. Satan is the openly declared enemy of God and is active today, though he was judged at the cross and will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire. (Ezekiel 28:15; Isaiah 14:12-14; Genesis 3:1; Colossians 2:14-15; Revelation 20:10)
Man was created in the image and likeness of God possessing emotion, will, and intellect in a state of innocent sinlessness. But, through Adam’s rebellious sin, mankind inherited a sin nature from their parents and Adam’s sin was imputed to all mankind. Thereby, mankind experiences physical and spiritual death. Man is totally depraved and is completely unable to alter his lost condition without the supernatural intervention of God. We believe that life begins at conception and is precious in the eyes of God, and thereby all children before the age of accountability are not responsible for their sinful condition. If death occurs prior to that age, God receives that child unto Himself in heaven. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23, 5:12; Ephesians 2:1, 5)
Sin is anything in the creature which is contrary to the Holy Character of God and His Word. Sin separates man from having fellowship with God. Except for Jesus Christ, all that have ever lived were born in sin and thus condemned. Man is a sinner by nature and by choice. The believer who sins must confess their sin in order to restore fellowship with God (the unbeliever is spiritually dead because of sin and is unable to change that condition apart from the finished work of Christ). (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:3; 8-9; 1 John 1:9)
1. Salvation is a free gift from God brought to man by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Man must trust in Christ as his Savior, confessing that they are sinners and receive Christ into their heart in order to receive salvation. Christ’s vicarious death (substitutionary death) and shed blood provided redemption and justification for all who receive. This is the only basis for man’s salvation. (Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-9; John 1:12; Romans 3:24; 1 Peter 1:18-19)
2. All who receive Christ as their personal Savior are kept by the power of God and are thus secure forever and should enjoy the personal confidence of their salvation knowing their security is in God. (John 6:37-40, 10:28-29; Romans 8:38-39; 1 John 5:11-13).
Every believer possess two natures with the provision made for victory of the new nature over the old nature through the power of the indwelling Spirit. The old nature has not been eradicated as some propose but needs to be battled daily by the believer. (Romans 6:13; Ephesians 4:22-24; Colossians 3:10; 1 Peter 1:14-16).
The Church began on the Day of Pentecost and is made up of believers of this age and is distinct from Israel. Christ is the Head of the Church and all believers are placed into the Body of Christ by the baptism of the Holy Spirit at the movement of salvation. God has gifted His Church with individuals who are to do the work of the ministry according to the gifts they have received. God ordained the Church to be His instrument in this age for worship, edification, and evangelism. (Acts 1:5, 11:15; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 4:11-13, 5:26-27).
1.The Church will experience the pre-tribulation rapture where Christ returns in the clouds to receive to Himself those who have died in Christ and those believers who are alive at His imminent (at any moment) return. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52).
2.The Church will be in heaven during the Tribulation and each member will appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ after which the Church will be married to Her Groom (Jesus Christ) and enjoy the marriage supper of the Lamb. Earth and its inhabitants will experience the seven-year tribulation period referred to as the seventieth week. (2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 19:7-9; Daniel 9:27, 12:1; Romans 14:10-12).
3. The Tribulation will consummate with the pre-millennial bodily return of Christ to earth with His saints. Christ’s return will introduce the millennial age and at this time Old Testament and Tribulation saints will be resurrected. Satan will be bound and placed in the Abyss for one thousand years. Israel will be restored to Her land and fulfill the Kingdom promises literally. (Matthew 24:29-30; Revelation 19:11, 14-15, 20:2-3, 6; Romans 11:25-27).
All men will experience a bodily resurrection, the redeemed to eternal life in the New Heave, New Earth and New Jerusalem, the lost to judgment and the Lake of Fire where they will suffer everlasting conscious punishment. (Daniel 12:1-3; Revelation 20:11, 12, 15; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9).
We believe that reaching people for Jesus Christ is our primary objective. However, we will not join with or align ourselves with any group, organization or Church that does not fully agree with our Doctrinal Statement and practices. The Bible commands us to separate ourselves from those whose beliefs and practices do not agree with the Word of God. (Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 6:14-17; 2 Timothy 3;1-5).
We believe that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and Theistic Evolution as unscriptural theories of origin. (Genesis 1-2; Exodus 20:11)
We believe that God has ordained and created all authority consisting of three basic institutions: 1) the home; 2) the Church; and 3) the state. Every person is subject to these authorities, but all (including the authorities themselves) are answerable to God and governed by His Word. God has given each institution specific Biblical responsibilities and balanced those responsibilities with the understanding that no institution has the right to infringe upon the other. The home, the Church, and the state are equal and sovereign in their respective Biblically assigned spheres of responsibility under God. (Romans 13:1-7; Ephesians 5:22-24; Hebrews 13:17; 1 Peter 2:13-14).
1. We believe that God, in His Word, has commanded that intimate sexual activity will be engaged in only within covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and only between the man and woman joined in that covenant.(Genesis 2:24; Romans 7:2-3; 1 Corinthians 7: 2; 1 Corinthians 7:10-11; Ephesians 5:31)
2. We believe, based upon the Word of God, that God has commanded that the covenant of marriage be only between one man (biologically male by birth) and one woman (biologically female by birth). This is the only legitimate marriage in God‘s eyes. (Genesis 2:23-24; Jeremiah 29:6; Mark 10:6-8, Romans 7:2; 1 Corinthians 7:10; Ephesians 5:22-23)
3. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, transgenderism, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. (Genesis 2:24; Genesis 19:4-11; Genesis 26:7-11; Leviticus 18: 1-30; Romans 1:26-32; 1 Thessalonians 4: 1-8; Galatians 5: 19-21; 1 Corinthians 6:9-20; Leviticus 20: 10-16; Jude 1:7; Deuteronomy 2: 5; 1 Timothy 1: 8-11).
4. We believe that men and women are spiritually equal in position before God but that God has ordained distinct and separate spiritual functions for men and women in the home and the Church. The husband is to be the leader of the home and men are to be leaders (pastors and the board members) of the Church. Accordingly, only men are eligible for ordination by the Church. (Galatians 3:28; Colossians :18; 1 Timothy 2:8-15, 3:4-5, 12).
We believe human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of unborn human life. Abortion is murder. We reject any teaching that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, birth or population control, or the mental well-being of the mother are acceptable. (Job 3:16; Psalm 51:5, 139:14-16; Isaiah 44:24; Jeremiah 1:5, 20:15-18).
We believe that God has given the Church a great commission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations, including our own, so that there might be a great multitude from every nation, tribe, ethnic group, and language group who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. As ambassadors of Christ we must use all available means to go to all nations and not wait for them to come to us. (Matthew 28:1-20; Luke 24:46-48; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:20).
We believe that Christians are prohibited from bringing civil lawsuits against other Christians or the Church to resolve personal disputes. We believe the Church possesses all the resources necessary to resolve personal disputes between members. We do believe, however, that a Christian may seek compensation for injuries from another Christian’s insurance company as long as the claim is pursued without malice or slander. (1 Corinthians 6:1-8; Ephesians 4:31-32).
We believe that every Christian, as a steward of that portion of God’s wealth entrusted to him, is obligated to support his local Church financially. Every Christian should give their offerings willingly, sacrificially and cheerfully to the support of the Church, the relief of those in need, and the spread of the Gospel. We believe that a Christian relinquishes all rights to direct the use of the gifts or offerings once the gift has been made. (Acts 4:34-37; 2 Corinthians 9:6-7; Galatians 6:6; Ephesians 4:28; 1 Timothy 5:17-18)
